<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a motion vector even in the case where a luminance difference is incurred between a plurality of images by an imaging apparatus or illuminance change. <P>SOLUTION: A motion vector detection apparatus for detecting a motion vector between a first image and a second image, which is different from the first image, for a plurality of regions on the first image includes: a first motion vector calculation section 101 which determines a region with a high correlation on the second image for each of the plurality of regions to calculate a first motion vector between the first image and the second image; a reliability determination section 102 for determining reliability of the first motion vector; a luminance difference calculation section 104 for calculating a luminance difference between the first image and the second image for a pixel within the region for which the reliability of the first motion vector is determined high; and a second motion vector calculation section 106 for calculating a second motion vector in a region for which the reliability of the first motion vector is determined low, by using the luminance difference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
