A rollback preventing method of a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission is provided to reduce the total size of a device without decreasing rollback preventing performance, by restraining the rotation of an output shaft by controlling a clutch and a brake installed in the automatic transmission in advance without additionally installing a parking brake. A rollback preventing method of a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission comprises the steps of: judging whether a control operation for preventing rollback of the vehicle is necessary or not(S100); braking the vehicle by generating first brake torque formed by operating a hydraulic modulator, if the rollback preventing operation is necessary(S101); and maintaining the braking state of the vehicle by generating second brake torque formed by restraining the rotation of an output shaft through the operation of a clutch and a brake installed in the automatic transmission, in order to prevent rollback if the first brake torque is automatically released(S103,S104).
