<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a cell having heat resistance, excellent balance between breaking strength and dimensional stability in a high temperature atmosphere, and excellent acid resistance, consequently having excellent long-term durability. <P>SOLUTION: A meta-type wholly aromatic polyamide fiber for a separator for a cell, is obtained by wet spinning with a specific coagulation bath to obtain a porous coagulated thread, performing plastic drawing by a specific factor, and applying a specific heat treatment in a saturated water vapor. Specifically, the separator for a cell is made of a lamination containing a surface layer (A) and an intermediate layer (B), and the meta-type wholly aromatic polyamide fiber for the surface layer (A) has the content of low molecular weight component having a molecular weight less than 10,000, of 1.0 mass% or lower, the amount of solvent remaining of 1.0 mass% or lower, a dry heat shrinkage at 300°C of 3.0% or lower, and breaking strength of 3.0 cN/dtex or greater. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
