METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING ELECTRODE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for forming an active material layer having a three-dimensional structure and high density in manufacturing an electrode by laminating a collector and an active material.

SOLUTION: An active material layer having a linear pattern 121 is formed by linearly coating a surface of a collector 11 with coating liquid containing an active material ingredient. The active material layer is mounted in a high pressure chamber 41, and high pressure argon gas is introduced from an argon gas supply source 43. Voids and bubbles in the linear pattern 121 are collapsed by pressurizing the linear pattern 121 to increase the density of the active material layer. The surface of the linear pattern 121 is uniformly pressurized with the high pressure gas so that the three-dimensional structure is maintained without collapsing the pattern.
