PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device and a driving method thereof are provided to offer a right eye or a left eye image data of a 3D image to a display panel for a first period of a first frame period, and hold the right eye or the left eye image for a second period of the first frame period. CONSTITUTION: A controller(170) addresses a left eye image data of a 3D image for a first period of 2N-1 frame period on a display panel(10). The controller holds the left eye image data for a second period of the 2N-1 frame period. The controller addresses a right eye image data of a 3D image for the first period of 2N frame period on the display panel. The controller holds the right eye image data for a second period of the 2N frame period.
