PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to adjust the difference between a first effective voltage and a second effective voltage by adjusting voltages applied to a pixel electrode and a texture control electrode. CONSTITUTION: A first pixel electrode(PE1) is formed on a first substrate. A first insulating film is placed between the first pixel electrode and a second pixel electrode(PE2). At least a part of the second pixel electrode is laminated on the first pixel electrode. The second pixel electrode includes a plurality of narrow long openings(OPN). The second pixel electrode applies a voltage different from a voltage of the first pixel electrode. Liquid crystal molecules are located between the first substrate and a second substrate.
