Walls, floors, roofs or pillars are formed using pre-cast building elements 1 having a solid or hollow rectangular body portion 2 having flanges 4, 5 or 6 forming continuation of the main face of the bricks on only 2, 3 or 4 edges so that when a plurality of units are placed in juxtaposition channels are formed between adjacent units and filled with reinforced concrete. No channels are formed by the flanges of a single unit. Angle section members are provided for finishing corners and for around window openings. Channel section members may be used adjacent vertical channels between units to cast enlarged stanchions.
