<p>Control of the melt level in a continuous casting mould is achieved by application of a dual system in which both the position of the ladle stopper of a bottom pouring ladle and the rolls, the speed of which controls the rate of metal removal from the mould, are regulated, the former by an integrate controller and the latter by a proportional controller, a function generator being additionally provided to select the optimum control of flow in a given situation.</p> |
