PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for embedding information in a sound signal and a device for extracting information from the sound signal which achieve improvement in extraction accuracy while suppressing quality degradation, even when auditory stream segregation principle is utilized. SOLUTION: When additional information is embedded in the sound signal, a predetermined section of the sound signal is obtained as a sound frame, and a spectrum set of a high frequency side and a low frequency side of predetermined frequency ranges F1 to F2 of the sound frame is extracted. Intensity of each extracted spectrum set is changed so that either of a product of component intensity of the high frequency side of an odd numbered sound frame and the component intensity of the low frequency side of an even numbered sound frame, or a product of component intensity of the low frequency side of the odd numbered sound frame and the component intensity of the high frequency side of the even numbered sound frame, may become greater than the other.
