<p>Rotating joint - for pressurised pipework. A swivel joint, esp. for liquefied gas pipework, comprising a primary annulus solid with one pipe, forming a peripheral inner roller bearing surface for an outer annulus solid with a second pipe. The lateral faces of the annuli are separated by a U-shaped seal ring with surface grooves to increase the flexibility of the material, pref. steel, at the groove zone. A spring clip, seating into an inner groove and retained by circular projections, compresses the seal onto each annulus' face to generate a gas tight seal at all temperatures of liquefied gas transport with compensation for contraction and expansion of pipework and annulus material.</p> |
