PURPOSE: A portable terminal and operation method thereof are provided to promote the convenience of a user by controlling a touch signal in a touch lock area. CONSTITUTION: In case a portable terminal is gripped by a user, a control unit determines the reception of a touch signal during a predetermined time through a predetermined area(S420, S430). In case a touch signal is received during the predetermined time in the predetermined area, the control unit establishes a touch lock area including the gripped area(S440). In case a grip shape is changed, the control unit determines the reception of the touch signal during the time in the area(S450, S460). The control unit changes the touch lock area(S470). |
