1334236 Stud and socket fastenings ITW Ltd 19 April 1971 [19 March 1970] 13363/70 Heading E2B A retainer 20 for receiving and retaining a circumferentially grooved pin 16 is an integral moulding of plastics material and annular in form to surround the pin, there being two or more radially inwardly projecting ratchet teeth 18, 20 which project from cantilever walls 22, 24 which extend substantially axially. The retainer in use, is lockable on to the pin by moving the retainer along the pin, the ratchet teeth trailing and being urged radially outwards by the pin until the teeth flex radially inwards to lie in the groove. As shown. the wall 30 is integral with a frusto-conical skirt 34; the pin may have a helical groove. The retainer may be incorporated in a cable strap of the kind having a toothed portion at one end which is passed through and gripped by a slotted member at the other end of the strap. |
