1,272,476. Temperature sensor housing. DYNAMIT NOBEL AG. May 30, 1969 [June 1, 1968], No. 27627/69. Heading G1D. A temperature measuring device comprises a housing 1 having a screw thread or bayonet fitting at one end 2 for engaging an aperture in a vessel wall, Fig.2 (not shown), and an immersion tube consisting of parts 4 and 5 joined by means of an insulating plug 9 formed of a mixture of asbestos and adhesive. A plug 10 of the same mixture forms a seal between tube 5 and housing 1. The immersion tube may be raised and lowered by means of a lockable handwheel 7 engaging the tube part 4 by means of a screw thread or a projection-cam arrangement. The depth of immersion may be indicated and a micrometer screw fine control may be provided. Marks may be provided to indicate the limits of permitted movement. The immersion tube is prevented from rotation by a releasable threaded screw 15 engaging one of a series of longitudinal slots in the tube or by a part of the tube of square crosssection engaging a corresponding part in the housing. The direction in which the hook end of the immersion tube points may be indicated. The temperature sensor 12 may be a semiconductor resistance thermometer bonded, cemented or soldered to the end of tube part 5. |
