<p>The cutter used esp. for a preform for the prodn. of a hollow article or finished profile has two or more knives enclosing similar angles, pref. a U-shape knife whose leg ends are connected to a current source. The cutter is comprises of segments of a ring joined into an interrupted ring. One leg of the U is fastened on the end of a segment, and the other leg of the U is fastened on the next segment. One of the segments consists of two separate parts each connected with one pole of the current source. The driving mechanism for the cutter consists of a step mechanism with a locking pin working in one direction, for stopping the movement of the cutter in a definite position, and a ratchet wheel coupling operated by a piston rod.</p> |
