The appliance has a housing (10) forming a cooking chamber with an inner tank (11) closed by a cover (12). The cover is pivotally mounted on the housing. The cover comprises a seal (21) forming a trough. The seal comprises a conduit (40) opened by an end in the trough and another end in the vicinity of a condensate reservoir when the cover is in a raised position. A closing unit i.e. rib (50), closes the conduit when the cover is in a lowered position. The seal and the conduit form a single piece.
