The knitting machine needles (3d,3e) have longitudinal shaft fixing a longitudinal direction and needle transverse direction. A hook (17) is formed at the shaft, and has a cross-section at a position. The cross-section is unsymmetrical with respect to the longitudinal central plane. The cross-section in an axis has a large diameter and in another axis has small diameter. The axis is closed with the needle transverse direction of an acute angle.
