<p>A cleaning appliance of the cylinder type includes separating apparatus 12 for separating dirt from a dirt-bearing fluid flow, a floor engaging rolling assembly 20 comprising means for drawing the fluid flow through the separating apparatus, a chassis 32 connected to the rolling assembly 20 and comprising at least one floor engaging support member 40, and a duct 28 for conveying the fluid flow to the separating apparatus 12. At least part of the duct 28 is connected to the chassis 32 for pivoting movement relative to the chassis 32. Biasing means (74, 76, fig 4) are provided for engaging the duct 28 to urge the pivoting part of the duct 28 towards a rest position relative to the chassis 32.</p> |
