An access platform 2 has a base 4,6 and a platform 8 slidably coupled to the base 4, 6 such that the platform 8 is slidable with respect to the base 4, 6 between a retracted position and an extended position. The platform may be extendable on a roller and groove arrangement, and may include an area in which ballast may be placed to counterbalance any loading on the platform. The platform may find application in the loading and unloading of vehicles. |
