<p>A 40% soln. of formaldehyde is introduced into a reservoir which can be heated and air from a high pressure source passed through. A condenser is supplied for the formaldehyde and for any water vapour so that purified air leaves by the outlet and into the appts. to be sterilised. Ammonia is passed into the latter from a separate recipient and neutralisation takes 10-15 mins. Air is then passed through and the smell of the ammonia is removed in one hour. The new process avoids any residual deposit and perfect sterilisation is obtained in a relatively short time.</p> |
