A laundry detergent composition is described that is present in a solid form and comprises a) one or more cationic surfactant compounds of formula (1) wherein R¹ is C8-C22-alkyl R² and R³ are â CH3 groups R⁴ is CH2CH2OH and X© is an anion selected from the group consisting of halogens and b) one or more water soluble or water dispersible soil release polymers selected from the group consisting of non-ionic or anionic oligomeric or polymeric esters of aromatic dicarboxylic acids; cellulosic soil release agents and mixtures thereof, and c) one or more anionic surfactants and that is free of phosphate and zeolite builders.
