Methods for determining proximity between radio frequency devices and controlling switches

Disclosed is a method for determining the proximity of each other of the radio frequency devices. A receiving radio device is used to periodically measure the Receive Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) value of a transmitting radio device to provide a series of results. The series of results is analysed using at least one technical indicator. In analysing the series of results, the change in proximity to each other of the radio frequency devices is determined.
