<p>The invention relates to the utilization of microwave non-conventional energies for reducing the hygroscopicity, increasing the dimensional stability and resistance to biological attack on wood and cellulosic materials. According to the invention, the utilization of non-conventional energies is achieved by means of a portable installation consisting of a parallelepipedal metal enclosure () ensuring a good sealing against the radiation escape, the enclosure () being open to one of its extremities by a slot () whereon there is mounted a waveguide that is specially calculated and designed for this application, the guide is extended with a vent () having the role of collecting the waves and focusing them to the area to be treated in order to achieve a homogenous distribution and a deep penetration for the created heat and radiation flux, and the waveguide communicates with the microwave generator by means of a flange; the installation comprises also a fan () for air cooling, a touch-screen display () for adjusting the working parameters, a supply cable (), some data cables () and a high voltage cable ().</p> |
