A wheelchair with a support frame and two rear wheels that are independently mounted to the frame via respective mounting hubs. The mounting hubs consist of two parts: a fixed part that is fastened to the wheelchair frame and a movable portion that slides within a slot or elongated hole of the fixed part to allow variable axle centreline axes or rear wheel geometry. The movable bush contains a hole for attaching the axle of one rear wheel. The fixed portion of the mounting is pivotally connected at one end to the wheelchair frame to allow free rotation. An elastomer or polymeric shock absorber block is fitted between the frame and fixed part of the mounting hub. The height difference between the frame and fixed part can be adjusted. Disc brakes for stopping are mounted on the rear wheels axles. A braking pin can extend and lock into a cavity or slot hole to prevent movement of the wheelchair.
