<p>A neck ring 10 for moulding a glass container neck finish that includes at least one closure attachment feature comprises two semi-annular neck ring sections, each consisting essentially of a neck ring insert 20 of wear-resistant metal and a neck ring body 16 of heat-conductive metal different from the wear-resistant metal. Each neck ring body 16 is formed around the associated neck ring insert 20 such that the neck ring insert 20 is embedded in the neck ring body 16. Each of the neck ring sections has a glass-contacting cavity face that includes a first surface portion formed by the inserts for moulding the at least one closure attachment feature on the container neck finish, and a second surface portion formed by the bodies and greater than the first surface portion for moulding portions of the container neck finish that exclude the at least one closure attachment feature.</p> |
