Disclosed is an edge-lift anchor for embedment into a concrete component for tilt-up lifting. The anchor comprises a head (2) and an anchoring portion (4). The head (2) is for releasable engagement with the lifting equipment. The anchoring portion (4) extends from the head (2) to lock the anchor into the surrounding concrete. The head (2) has an aperture (12) within a lower part, as considered in relation to the installed condition of the anchor. This aperture (12) can receive the concrete which anchors the head against shear forces acting on the head during the tilt-up phase of lifting. The head (2) is so shaped that its lower edge (12a) is formed with a downwards extension (12) containing at least a lower part of the aperture (12). The upper edge of the head (2) has a recess (16) for accommodating one or more perimeter bars (18) which may be incorporated as part of the reinforcement of the concrete component. The recess (16) is of complimentary shape to that of the downwards extension (14).
