PURPOSE: A photosensitive polymer compound is provided not to generate rash or static electricity, thereby manufacturing liquid crystalline membrane having high uniformity without defective orientation. CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive polymer compound is in chemical formula (1). In chemical formula (1), Y^1 is a divalent group in chemical formula (2-1) or (2-2), and A^1 is 1,4-phenylene, 1,4-cyclohexylene, pyridine-2,5-diyls, pyrimidine-2,5-diyl, naphthalene-2,6-diyl, tetrahydronaphthalene-2,6-diyl or 1,3-dioxane-2,5-diyl, Z^1 is a single bond, -COO-, -OCO-, -CH=CH-COO-, -OCO-CH=CH-, -OCO-CH2CH2-, -CH2CH2-COO-, -C≡C-COO-, -OCO-C≡C-, -CH2O-, -OCH2-, -CF2O-, -OCF2-, -CONH-, -NHCO-, -(CH2)4-, -CH2CH2-, -CF2CF2-, -CH=CH-, -CF=CF- or -C≡C-.
