The pump has a pump element comprising a pump piston (3) that is drivable over a cam (2) or eccentric cam of a drive shaft (1) in a stroke movement. The pump piston is indirectly supported at the cam or eccentric cam over a plunger (4) and a roller. A contact surface is formed at a face surface of the roller during operation of the pump, where the roller face surface is in friction contact with the plunger. The contact surface is bent opposite to a plunger-surface serving as a friction partner, so that a wedge-shaped gap is formed for receiving lubricant e.g. diesel or engine oil.
