<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a pressure recovery and reduce a back pressure, and also to provide a gas turbine engine including an exhaust system for improving the efficiency of a turbine engine. <P>SOLUTION: In accordance with one embodiment, a system includes the turbine engine (12) including an axial-radial diffuser section (42) disposed about a first longitudinal axis (32) downstream in an exhaust flow path from a turbine section (22). The system also includes an exhaust plenum (33) including a first plenum portion (62) disposed about the axial-radial diffuser section (42), wherein the first plenum portion (62) includes a curved wall (64) that diverges away from a circumference (92) of the axial-radial diffuser section (42).
