<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gastight storage battery which can seal a peripheral section of an outer packaging which contains a power generation element so as not to let it be broken easily by creep proportionate to stresses caused by internally generated gas and can also realize this sealed structure without incurring an increase in overall battery weight and in cost. <P>SOLUTION: A gastight storage battery comprises: a recess which accommodates a power generation element which includes an electrode body consisting of electrically connected current extraction leads 101 and 102 and an electrolyte; an outer packaging 103 made of metal which has a flange part protruding outward from the peripheral part of the recess; and a metal sheet 104 which is heat-bonded to one side of the flange part with metal adhesive resin film interposed therebetween while covering the recess like a lid to seal the recess. The metal sheet 104 heat-bonded to the underside of the flange part is protruded outward from the flange part, this protruded part being folded back to the other side of the flange part with a film interposed therebetween, this folded part being heat-bonded to the same other side with film interposed therebetween. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
