<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clutch release mechanism for a clutch device, capable of facilitating driving operations of a vehicle, by preventing a driver of the vehicle from strongly experiencing a feeling that driving force is suddenly connected to or disconnected from the shift change of a transmission. <P>SOLUTION: The clutch device 100 is provided with the clutch release mechanism 200 which releases a driving force transmitting state by linking with the operation of the gear shift on the transmission. The clutch release mechanism 200 is provided with a movable-side cam plate 210 and a fixed-side cam plate 230, in each of which a shift-up time tilt surface, on which a cam ball body 226 rolls in the shift-up operation to the transmission, and a shift-down time tilt surface, on which the cam ball body 226 rolls in the shift-down operation to the transmission, are formed.
