<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a fixing device that prevents occurrence of a toner blister and reduces the heating time for heating a fixing member to a fixable temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a fixing device having a heating rotator, heating rotator heating means, a pressurizing rotator that forms a nip between itself and the heating rotator, pressurizing rotator temperature adjusting means, and pressurizing rotator temperature detecting means. The pressurizing rotator temperature adjusting means comprises: pressurizing rotator heating means, which is disposed at a position in contact with or opposing to the pressurizing rotator and heats the pressurizing rotator; and pressurizing rotator cooling means, which is disposed at a position in contact with or opposing to the pressurizing rotator and cools the pressurizing rotator. The pressurizing rotator temperature adjusting means operates the pressurizing rotator heating means or the pressurizing rotator cooling means in accordance with information relating to a sheet for fixing and with the temperature detected by the pressurizing rotator temperature detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
