A plant for the surface decoration of elongate items (P) comprises an inlet section (2) and an outlet section (3) for one or more items (P) having an external peripheral surface (S) to be decorated, means (4) for supporting the elongated objects (P) on a predetermined lying plane (IT), means (5) for continuously forwarding the items (P) from the inlet section (2) to the outlet section (3) along a longitudinal feeding direction (L), with the items substantially parallel to the same longitudinal direction, means for decorating (9) the external surface (S) of the items (P). The decorating means (9) comprise a plurality of jet devices (10, 10',...) arranged along the longitudinal direction (L), at least one of which is oriented to direct a jet (J) of a pigmented substance on a portion (S') of the external surface (S) of the items (P) at least partially different from another surface portion (S") designed to be decorated by another device (10, 10',...). A method for decorating elongate objects is also described. |
