METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING MOBILE TERMINAL CAPABILITY OF SUPPORTING INTERFERENCE SUPPRESSION AND CANCELLATION

A Method and system for detecting mobile terminal capability of supporting interference suppression and cancellation are provided in the present invention. The method includes: a Base Station Subsystem (BSS) determining a mobile terminal which needs to be performed a Single Antenna Interference Cancellation (SAIC) capability acquirement; the BSS applying one or multiple round/rounds Co-channel interference to the determined mobile terminal which needs to be performed an SAIC capability acquirement; the BSS analyzing related parameters in one or more measurement reports reported by the mobile terminal during Co-channel interference applying periods, wherein the related parameters include received signal quality and received signal strength of a downlink subset, etc, and accordingly judging whether the mobile terminal has the capability of supporting SAIC. With the present invention, the mobile terminal capability of supporting SAIC can be detected on the preconditions that voice quality is not influenced farthest, thereby the robustness of voice communications can be assured so that a good overall network performance can still be gained by the GSM network in the interference-limited environment.
