This rechargeable electric apparatus is provided with: a switching element (12); a first shunt resistor (13-1) that connects between the switching element (12) and the positive electrode of a secondary battery (11); a second shunt resistor (13-2) that connects between a load (14) and the positive electrode of the secondary battery (11); and a control unit (15). The control unit (15) controls the on/off switching of the switching element (12) on the basis of the respective voltages across the ends of the first shunt resistor (13-1) and the second shunt resistor (13-2) in order to control the load current that flows to the load (14) via the second shunt resistor (13-2) and the supplied current that flows to the secondary battery (11) via the first shunt resistor (13-1).
