<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device for accurately discriminating the size of a dot. <P>SOLUTION: The recording device includes: a recorder for discharging ink to record the dot on a recording medium; and an imaging part (42) for imaging the dot. The imaging part (42) includes: a reference pattern (400) which is arranged in the imaging part (42) and includes a predetermined circular pattern; and a two-dimensional sensor (423) which images the reference pattern (400) within part of an imaging region and images the dot (the dot constituting a test pattern 100) within other region.
