<p>The present invention discloses a device and method for performing overhead processing in an Optical Transport Network (OTN). The device includes: overhead extracting modules, an overhead multiplexing-demultiplexing module, an overhead processing module and overhead inserting modules. The overhead extracting modules extract the overhead data of Optical Channel Transport Data Units, and the overhead data are transmitted to the overhead multiplexing-demultiplexing module to be serially processed and sequenced. The overhead multiplexing-demultiplexing module transmits the overhead data in sequence to the overhead processing module according to the sequencing result. The overhead processing module detects overhead alarm information in the received overhead data, transmits the overhead alarm information to a control platform, generates corresponding overhead data according to the demand of the control platform, and transmits the corresponding overhead data to the overhead multiplexing-demultiplexing module. The overhead multiplexing-demultiplexing module demultiplexes the overhead data received from the overhead processing module, and distributes them to each overhead inserting module, and the overhead inserting module inserts the overhead data to the overhead location of the present branch of Optical Channel Transport Data Units. The present invention reduces the logic resource needed in the overhead processing process of the OTN.</p> |
