<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for controlling motor torque, which can adequately suppress power consumption of a motor by reducing unnecessary creep torque while securing necessary creep torque. <P>SOLUTION: A control means generates creep torque by controlling an electric motor 2 based on information detected by a vehicle speed detecting means 24 and a braking operation detecting means 22. If the brake is operated when the creep torque is generated, the control means decreases the creep torque by a predetermined level, and if the brake is not operated when the creep torque is generated, the control means increases or decreases the creep torque in a predetermined level range on the basis of the speed of the vehicle detected.
