The invention relates to a man/machine interface (MMI) system for helmets (1) and to the associated method, comprising the following steps: a) the identification, by at least one control unit located on the vehicle or in nomadic systems used on the vehicle, of at least one signal related to navigation actions and/or warnings related to the vehicle environment and driving conditions; b) the wireless transmission of information related to the action and/or warning signals from the at least one control unit to the control electronics that manage a series of vibration actuators located inside the helmet; and c) the creation of at least one vibration by at least one actuator according to the type of signal, such that this vibration comes into contact with the user's head and the user associates said at least one vibration with a specific signal.
