PURPOSE: A drum brake is provided to reduce a number of components and assembling process by replacing an upper/lower shoe return spring and a show holder down spring with one torsion spring type elastic member. CONSTITUTION: A drum brake comprises a drum, a brake plate(10), a pair of brake shoes(20a,20b), a wheel cylinder(30), an anchor block, and an elastic member(80). The pair of brake shoes is installed in the front side of the back plate. A lining(50) is attached in the brake shoes to operate for braking by rubbing against the inner circumference of the drum. The wheel cylinder is formed in the sides of each brake shoe. A piston moves the brake shoe toward outside is arranged in the wheel cylinder. The anchor block is arranged between the other sides of each brake shoe, thereby supporting the brake shoes. The elastic member supports the brake shoe in the back plate and returns the brake shoe after braking.
