<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which can verify whether a printing material cartridge is correctly mounted on a printer. <P>SOLUTION: A printing material cartridge 100 that is mounted on a printer 1000 includes a storage unit 203, a first terminal which is connected to the storage unit 203 and has a contact portion in contact with a first unit side terminal, a second terminal which is connected to an electrical device 108 to which a voltage higher than an operating voltage of the storage unit is applied and has a contact portion in contact with a second unit side terminal, and a third terminal that is provided in close vicinity to the second terminal, does not have a contact portion in contact with the unit side terminals when the printing material cartridge is correctly mounted on a cartridge mounting portion, and is electrically connected to the first terminal. The printer 1000 detects the mounting state of the printing material cartridge based on the electrical conduction between the first unit side terminal and the second unit side terminal in the state where the printing material cartridge 100 is mounted on the cartridge mounting portion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
