<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an optical connector that can easily make tips of optical fibers each constituting an optical fiber ribbon flush with a connection end surface of a ferrule and fix them to each other, when multiple optical fiber ribbons are laminated and mounted on a multistep MT (Mechanically Transferable) ferrule. <P>SOLUTION: At first, tip ends of optical fibers each constituting an optical fiber ribbon are inserted into an optical fiber insertion hole and tips of the optical fibers are projected from a connection end surface of a ferrule (a first step). Next, the optical fiber ribbons are fixed at the position spaced by a predetermined length from the ferrule and a deflection is formed in the optical fiber ribbons by making a reference plane butt against the tips of the optical fibers to push them back (a second step). Then, adhesive resin is injected inside the ferrule and the optical fiber ribbons are bonded and fixed in the ferrule (a third step). In the first step, a projecting length of the optical fiber constituting an optical fiber ribbon positioned at an upper layer is longer than that of the optical fiber constituting an optical fiber ribbon positioned at a lower layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
