<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent inaccessibility to data in a whole storage device and prevent data corruptions in the data. <P>SOLUTION: A storage device according to an embodiment comprises a volatile memory, an auxiliary power supply, a nonvolatile memory, writing means and prohibition means. The writing means, when power from a main power supply to the volatile memory is cut off, writes writing non-completion information that shows user data retained in the volatile memory into the nonvolatile memory in response to application of power from the auxiliary power supply, and after writing the writing non-completion information, it writes the user data retained in the volatile memory into the nonvolatile memory, and then, after writing the user data, it writes power cutoff information that shows cutoff of power from the main power supply into the nonvolatile memory. The prohibition means prohibits retrieval of user data shown by the writing non-completion information from the nonvolatile memory if the power cutoff information is not written into the nonvolatile memory when the power is applied to the volatile memory from the main power supply. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
