<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus not only able to prevent a holder from being easily detached from a housing due to force to rotate (open/close) a half-mirror but also able to eliminate the need for large force required for a user to deliberately detach a holder. <P>SOLUTION: The image display apparatus includes: a housing accommodating an optical unit for projecting light corresponding to an image signal; and a holder for supporting a half mirror rotatably and attached to an opening in the leading end of the housing so as to be freely detached via an attachment/detachment mechanism. The attachment/detachment mechanism includes: an engaging means for resisting first force acting in the direction in which the holder is detached from the housing when the half-mirror is rotated forward in the closing direction; and a drop preventing means for preventing drop of the holder even if second force acting in the direction in which the holder drops from the housing acts when the half-mirror is rotated rearward in the closing direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
