A diaphragm (100) which can be fixed at an inlet port (11) of an economizer. The diaphragm (100) is configured to engage against the side walls (11a) of the inlet port (11) to ensure a liquid tightness during the washing step of the economizer (200). In particular, the diaphragm (100) comprises an engagement means with the side walls (11a) of the inlet port (11) for conveying all the washing fluid (52) towards a discharge duct (60), preventing the washing fluid (52) from entering a gas inlet collector (10) and falling towards the engine (70). The diaphragm (100) can be foldable into a book-like configuration, for being inserted through an inspection door (210) of the economizer. In particular, the. diaphragm (100) comprises a central circular stiff body (110) and the engagement means comprises a ring inflatable body (120) that extends peripherally about the stiff body (110). The inflatable body (120) has a toroidal shape and is made of deformable plastic material capable of bearing a high pressure. The inflatable body (120) is configured to move from a deflated arrangement A, in which it is possible to position the central stiff body (110) and the inflatable body (120) at the inlet port (11), to an inflated arrangement B, where the inflatable body (120) while expanding sealingly blocks the inlet port (11) of the gas inlet collector (10) in order not to allow a backward leakage of washing fluid (52) into the gas inlet collector (10) towards the engine (70). |
