PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a time-of-flight type mass spectrometer, instead of using a flight tube made of high-cost Invar, using a flight tube which is low in cost, has a simple structure, prevents a temperature drift, can obtain a stable mass spectrum, and is hardly affected by deflection by its self-weight or vibration from the outside even when being supported in a cantilevered manner.
SOLUTION: A time-of-flight type mass spectrometer includes a flight tube using a CFRP pipe 17a having an electroless nickel plating layer 17b applied to the inner and outer surfaces thereof as conductive treatment, and adhered to a flight tube holding member 18 using a conductive adhesive 21. The use of the CFRP pipe 17a for the flight tube prevents the flight tube from being deformed even when a temperature adjustment control system is not provided, unlike a conventional metal flight tube. The specific gravity of the CFRP is approximately one-fifth that of stainless to prevent the flight tube even supported in a cantilevered manner from being deflected, and the CFRP also has vibration resistance to prevent the flight tube from being affected by vibration.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
