<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding cassette having an easy-open paper feed cover, and to provide an image forming apparatus, and a method of opening the paper feeding cassette. <P>SOLUTION: The paper feeding cassette includes: a paper feed cover 20 to be opened and closed to house roll paper P; a pressing arm 30 with one end rotatably supported and the other end biased to press the roll paper to a paper feed roller 2; a return spring 40 with one end connected to the pressing arm and the other end movably supported between a first position and a second position where a larger biasing force is generated than in the first position; and an auxiliary arm 50 that moves one end of the return spring to the second position when closing the paper feed cover and moves the other end of the return spring to the first position when opening the paper feed cover. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
