<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece holding device in a grinding device, which can stably hold a workpiece without being dislocated or deformed by a grinding force at grinding time. <P>SOLUTION: A drive plate 3 is attached to an end of a spindle 1 via a magnet chuck 2, and the workpiece W is adsorbed and supported by a workpiece adsorbing surface 5 at an end of a cylindrical part 4 formed on the drive plate 3. Pin blocks 7 are spaced out in a circumferential direction inside the cylindrical part 4, and holding pins 12 are retractably assembled into pin holes 11 formed in the respective pin blocks 7. Compressed air is fed to pressurization chambers 11b formed below the holding pins 12 to move up the holding pins 12 and abut ends of the holding pins 12 projecting outward from the pin holes 11 against a chamfered part c formed at an end of an inner diameter surface of the workpiece W to hold an inner diameter part of the workpiece W.
