The invention relates to a device and a method for diagnosing breakdown of induction motors, performing a demodulation process that eliminates the fundamental current component in the signal coming from the capture of the phase current of an electric motor, in such a way that the malfunction harmonics are easily detectable, even in the event of machines being completely discharged. The demodulation process is followed by a subsequent filtration over the spectrum, following the application of the Fast Fourier Transform to the demodulated signal that increases the amplitude of the peaks related to the malfunction harmonics, facilitating the detection thereof over the background noise, especially in an automated manner. |
