<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery including a safety device that can be easily manufactured by sequentially laminating structures between a case and a terminal. <P>SOLUTION: The secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a second electrode, a separator between the first electrode and the second electrode; a case housing the electrode assembly; a cap plate covering an opening of the case; and an external short circuit part mounted on the surface of the cap plate opposite to the side of the electrode assembly.
