PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for manufacturing an electrode having a multi-layered structure of a collector and an active material capable of layering the collector and the active material with excellent adhesion without incurring a performance penalty as an electrode.

SOLUTION: A tip 523a of an ejecting nozzle for ejecting a coating liquid containing an active material ingredient is relatively moved in the direction Dn while being pressed against the surface of a collector 11 to be coated. A groove Gr is formed on the collector 11 by the pressure of the nozzle tip 523a, and the coating liquid 52p is applied to cover the groove Gr to form an active material layer 121. The collector and the active material are prevented from peeling by the larger contact surface than that in the case where the surface of the collector is flat.
